Trading In

Ah...May 3rd hasn't even gotten here yet, and I already find myself becoming more practical in my choice of accessories to purchase with the rapidly approaching arrival of our daughter. For instance.....

I got the following New Balance running shoes off of Zappos.com (have you ever been to that website? If you haven't, check it out immediately.). I really needed a new pair of running shoes - my Nike shoes were looking a little worse for wear - and these will be great for getting back into shape after the delivery, hopefully sooner than later!


But if I am to be honest with myself, I have to admit that I am secretly lusting over these stilettos from Alexander McQueen instead:


Check out that heel! I know they're insane, but they are too pretty for words....

On the purse front, I would love to get this great purse:


But will instead be purchasing in the next couple of weeks a much more practical diaper bag:


Wow, how times change! You've got to give me this, though - at least my diaper bag is kind of cute and not bright pink or covered with some cartoon characters!!!

Thunder Over Louisville

I really hope we get a chance to make it to this year's Thunder Over Louisville. For those who don't live in this great state, Thunder is the big kick off to the Kentucky Derby Festival, leading up to, you guessed it, the Kentucky Derby. Supposedly, Thunder is the largest annual fireworks display in North America, during which fireworks are launched from eight 400-foot barges on the Ohio River and also on the Second Street Bridge that spans over the river. I think Ryan told me that his employer (Miller Brewing Company) is the beer sponsor for the festival, so I'm hoping we would be able to get some good seats (or at least a parking pass, it's insane trying to find a place to park in downtown Louisville for this event).
