The days of us being a family of three are ticking by very quickly - just 3 1/2 weeks, to be exact - and we're trying to soak up as much time together as a little nuclear unit as we can. We went to brunch at the fantastic Verbena Cafe not once but twice this weekend - it's our new favorite brunch spot. To say we are big on breakfast on the weekends is an understatement. When you have a toddler, it can become difficult to go out to dinner (especially a late one near bedtime), so we find it easiest to do breakfast.
Plus, it doesn't hurt when said toddler gets to enjoy a "nutritious" breakfast of chocolate chip pancakes and whipped cream (kid size, of course).

I would have loved to have sneaked a bite of these scrumptious looking pancakes, but Alexandra ate every last bite. Don't worry, we made sure to fill her up on fruit the rest of the weekend!
Granny Sharon (Ryan's mom) came up for a visit Saturday afternoon. Alexandra didn't let her rest for a minute....I'm pretty sure Sharon ended up reading at least 25 books in the less than 24 hours she was with us. I did catch this precious moment during storytime - I love the look of adoration and love on Alexandra's face as she peeks a glance at her grandmother. My child is blessed with such wonderful, loving grandparents that just dote on her so much.
I've been having fun adding clothes to baby boy's growing wardrobe, but no matter how much better the selection has gotten for cute little boy clothing, it's no match for little girl clothing. Little boys don't do accessories, but little girls definitely do! This was clearly obvious given Alexandra's outfit on Sunday. I give you Exhibit A (adorable hairclip from Etsy seller May Crimson):
And Exhibit B ... purple Paul Frank monkey socks. Is there anything cuter than little baby and toddler feet? I think not.
I'm coming into the home stretch, folks. It's hard to believe that our little prince will be here in less than 30 days. I find myself becoming more sentimental with each passing day (if that's possible), enjoying the final moments of it just being the three of us. I'm sure there will be a sap-filled post on this to come!

I can't believe baby boy is going to be here this month!!! SO excited for you & can't wait to hear what name you pick! Have you decided yet?!?
Good afternoon from Tokyo!
Sara!! It is so good to see you blogging, especially as I know you'll be so very busy in these next few weeks.
It's wonderful to hear that everyone is well and enjoying those last days as a family of three. I remember those moments fondly, and amazingly, our family shifted seemlessly from a threesome to a foursome~also with a little boy! You truly are blessed in your health and in your happiness.
I cannot wait to see Alexandra's new room. Can we possibly expect an update pre-bebe?
Take care and as always, it's so good to know you're doing well. I've been praying for you all!
Warmly,
Elizabeth
That is a sweet picture of the two of them together.
So glad for an update!
The weather was soooo nice this weekend and such a tease!
Love that clip and I might be craving pancakes right about now...thanks! ;)
Where has the time gone? Love seeing your posts, your little girl is getting SO big. Congrats on everything girl!
Wow, time flies! Can't believe your baby boy will be here so soon!
You're so right about boy clothes vs. girl clothes. While there are some cute boy things out there, the girl stuff is just so much more fun! Is it wrong that I'm (not so)secretly a teeny bit hoping we're having a girl just so I can buy hair bows and dresses?
I know what you mean about the boy clothes. We just found out we are expecting a boy! And I have been doing a lil shopping. And it's so different. I can't wait to see pictures of the nursery!! ooh and I still want to see Alexandria's new room too.
I'm so excited to find a new breakfast/brunch spot! It is much easier to do breakfast, especially when you come all the way from Lexington just to eat a meal (: Hopefully whenever we come, we'll be able to meet up with you guys. Maybe we can wait until after prince charming is here and we'll get to meet him!!
but you will also find...little boys are easier and faster to dress since they don't have so much "stuff" to put on! :)
i remember being a little sad and scared about going from 3 to 4 fam...but soon as i saw that baby boy, that was a distant memory!

Hi, Sara -
Thanks for stopping by my blog today - I was wondering how far along you are. Wow, it's almost here. Your due date is close to that of my brother and his wife. Best of luck to you - enjoy this time with your family. I've not been to that restaurant you mentioned - sounds amazing! Will have to try it out.
