Just one more advantage of working in an all-female law firm comprised of very stylish individuals is being deemed the recipient of some hand me downs. One of our partners recently went through her multiple closets and gifted myself and one other attorney with a TON of clothes that she no longer had use for, and in some cases had never even worn. Seriously, I walked away with armfuls of Banana Republic and Ann Taylor shift dresses and suits, some BCBG tops and a never worn silk Tory Burch shell that is gorgeous.
I haven't been the only lucky one - with stylish ladies come stylish children. My sweet co-worker Janice has a little girl that is a few years older than Alexandra and brought in these beautiful clothes earlier in the week for Alexandra to have. Her little girl is 6 so my girl won't be able to wear most of these clothes for a year or two, but I cannot wait until then because they are the cutest:

Really, check out that cute smocking on that last pink outfit:
Isn't that adorable? I love smocked clothing for little kids - we Southern girls loves ourselves some smocking, almost as much as we love anything monogrammed!
My absolute favorite outfit has to be this one (Mommy would like to have herself one of these in adult size, please):
Yes, my child now owns Burberry and her mommy does not. Something is very wrong about that statement. Really, I'm not kidding when I say that my daughter is FAR better dressed than I am!
Janice also threw in the cutest pair of Lacoste slippers:
Needless to say, I was speechless when I saw all these cute things! I consider myself lucky every day to be surrounded by such wonderful women - they are as kind and generous as they are intelligent and motivated. Can you tell we are having fun??
Speaking of hand me downs, I spied the following at a local well-run children's consignment sale for only $4 and I couldn't resist:
As you can see, we are starting Alexandra out young as one of the many faithful of the Big Blue Nation (sorry for the poor quality, these were taken with my iPhone):
Tomorrow night's 10pm tip off against Cornell is a wee bit late for baby girl, but hopefully she will be sporting this pretty little blue number this weekend as the Wildcats advance through the tourney. GO CATS!

Man, are you 2 lucky girls! You hit the jackpot--the green santa outfit I swear is just like one Cash had when he was a year. Same santa just bigger in the center and of course a longall. Too cute!
I love the adorable smocked boys t-shirts Cash and Cillian have about everyone they make with cute gingham shorts to match.
I think I would really go broke if I had a girl!!
Sounds like you have a lot of fun at work--most people can't say that!
You are blessed!
Wow, you SCORED with clothes for you & little girl clothes! A Burburry? That.is.awesome! And, I am for Kentucky now that my bracket is busted! Why did I pick Kansas to win? UGH.
I bet she will love the little cheer outfit! How does it that they end up so much better dressed than us?
what adorable clothes!!! Sounds like you hit the jackpot!
Wow your a lucky lady! those hand me downs are so cute! Love the little cheerlading outfit! Have a good day and enjoy your hand me downs! :>)
Wow! What a loot you got! Thankfully my mother-in-law loves shopping for my little ones, so they get little clothing surprises all the time. And she has great taste, which is a blessing! :) Although she wishes my daughters would wear smocked dresses everyday, but unfortunately my 21 month old isn't dainty enough, and I'd be sending them off every week for dry cleaning. But I can't wait for preschool to begin in the fall, so she'll really be able to wear the cuter dresses. :)
What gorgeous hand-me-downs! Can you pass them along to us next! :)
Cute stuff looks like they were hardly worn.
OMG I LOVE those clothes!!!!
Good grief!! You really hit the jackpot...or should I say Alexandra hit the jackpot! I'm so jealous! She and Addi always have the same outfits, not I'm going to have to spend a fortune to catch up! Can't wait to see your cutie wearing them!
Those clothes are ADORABLE! And the little back lacoste shoes? I want them!!... In my size of course ;-)
Omg! You sure work with some ladies with great taste!! Lucky you!!
Cute outfits!Love the smocked stuff! I was the youngest of a family of girls and was very used to hand me downs. My mother still reminds me of the time when I was 8 or 9 that I threw a major temper tantrum on the kitchen floor because I was so over it. I begged for something other than my sisters' old stuff. I'm guessing if they had burberry hand me downs I would have shut my trap! :)
Oh my goodness two lucky ladies! That's so nice that your colleagues are willing to pass along some of their things to you and your baby girl. Those little girly outfits are to die for! She is going to look like a little angel in them!
I am the oldest in my family, and my little sister was 10 years after me, so my mom only saved some of the really special outfits of mind that by sister ended up wearing. There are two boys in between my sister and I, and my mom didn't plan on having any more babies - HA! :) How that we're 30/20, baby sister loves raiding my closet. ;)
Cute Cute clothes, love the Burberry
I could look at sweet clothes like that all the live long day.... And what a cutie she is!
Um, do any of them have little boys?! I have tubs and tubs of little girl hand-me-downs just waiting in my basement but it looks like those won't be getting worn.
Hi Sara, I popped over from Melanie's blog :) I used to get hand-me downs when I was little and actually loved it, I would still love it if adult friends would pass on some lovely Ann Taylor clothes to me too ;) I love all your fashion pics in the post below too. You've got me inspired to get out and get some new stuff for Spring.
Burberry?! Wow, I'm jealous of her, too! You were very lucky to get some gorgeous things for her!
I am hoping I can stay up till 9:00 myself to watch the game!!! What adorable clothes!!!! How much fun! I have a few friends who I want their hand me downs so bad for Lilly but they aren't sure they are done yet, so they won't give them up!
lucky you! i always liked getting hand me downs from my older cousins because i wanted to be like them. now, one of those cousins passes down her daughters clothes to ella which is nice because she always sends really cute outfits. i joke all the time that ella is much better dressed than me. sounds like you got some good things too!
I love your blog! Maybe if I had worked in an all woman law firm, I would still be practicing law...(doubtful, but maybe :) ). Clothing swaps, etc. are always such a fun way to get a fresh look.
Wow, you scored some wonderful children's clothes! That's so great, especially when kids grow out of them so quickly. Love the UK outfit - my son pulled out his football jersey this morning and said, "Go Cats!" We're raising our kids right!
Man, are you ever lucky! I keep secretly hoping for the cute hand-me-downs to appear, but at my testosterone-laden place of employ, it ain't gonna happen.
What gorgeous hand-me-downs. I particularly love that Burberry looking one (is it actually Burberry?), but they are all fabulous.
Very cute outfits!!!
Hi Sara
I have been visiting your blog for a while ( I can't remember where I linked to it!) but haven't commented, so I just thought I'd say hello. Love the outfits, I'm sure your little one will look fabulous in them. It sounds like you work with really nice women, which is a wonderful atmosphere to be in.
My nieces are three sisters, but they also have three girl and two boy cousins - everything has done the rounds! So I think if I have a baby it will all be just too old and I'll have to get all new!
Have a lovely weekend, will catch up on your blog again soon,
Lucy
What an awesome perk!!! That Burberry dress is gorgeous—when I first saw the pic I assumed it was for you! Alexandra is a lucky girl :)
So, if any of the girls in your office have boys...SEND THEM MY WAY! What a haul you got. I am GREEN with envy. I love adorable children's clothes and Free or consignment is even better.
I am IN LOVE with all those gorgeous smocked outfits!! Are you kidding me??! I too, love hand me downs for the kids. It's the best way to stretch the wardrobe and the wallet!
By the way -- I contacted Beth about a blog redesign thanks to you! ;)
THESE are so not the hand-me downs I remember as a kid! If you find that adorable burberry piece in adult size, you better let us know! Marija
Those little girls dresses are darling! The one with the shoe is over the top, but I love them all! My cousin is about to have a little girl and I'm giving her a ton of my daughter's outfits...it makes me happy that they will be worn again.
