(Warning, picture heavy post to follow, stay with me!)
I've never been that into celebrating Valentine's Day, but I did commemorate the day of love with a few special little moments with my own loved ones. While my parents stayed with Alexandra Friday night, Ryan and I went to Stoney River for dinner. I'm sure my filet was very good, but I truly cannot give an honest opinion as I couldn't taste one bite due to my head cold. I felt terribly guilty, telling Ryan that we could be eating McD's, and it probably would have tasted the same to my desensitized tastebuds! This head cold has got to hit the road, along with the snow (Louisville got another 8 inches of snow today, that's on top of the 4 or so we got last week....32 days till spring!).
Saturday morning, Alexandra opened her little Valentine's gift from us a day early. We didn't do anything too major - just a little love from Abby Cadabby (one of the Sesame Street gang for those not in the know) and one gigantic sucker. I haven't brought myself to open it yet...I have visions of sticky red hand prints all over my nice clean couch. I have no one to blame but myself for that one.
As you can see, the gang's all here so Abby should feel right at home.
I spent a little time on Saturday and Sunday at my new office, doing a little decorating (more on that to come in another post, I want to share the finished product, not the work in progress!). I spent the rest of the days at home, bonding with my girl.

There was lots of time spent chauffeuring our friends...

Loving on our favorite baby doll...

Reading a classic...

Enjoying high tea...

Flashing toothy grins...

Coloring, building block towers and expanding our ever-growing vocabulary...
A few moments lost in quiet reflection...

...And savoring some new found independence...
...all of which made up for one sublime Valentine's weekend!

Thanks for sending such sweetness to Western Kentucky! Love ya'll and miss you but feel you're closer thru the magic of the airwaves. You said you are a lucky girl to have Ryan as your husband but we are all also very blessed to have you in our lives! Seems like you've been around for years and years. Guess that's family right? Much love. Carolyn

Oh kissing that baby doll is the cutest thing I've ever seen!!! Just priceless! Her standing on the stepstool is a taste of reality for us too! Addi stands on her stool to brush teeth now. They are just getting way too big! I love ALL of the pictures of your sweet baby...keep 'em coming!

Sorry you felt so crummy on Valentine's Day (any day for that matter). I'm sure the snow isn't helping matters.
Alexandra gets cuter with every picture! The one of her kissing her baby doll is the sweetest ever.
And your photography skills are really improving. Now you'll have to share your secrets with me. Are these edited or straight out of the camera?
The shot with the cart is a riot. She looks just like a busy career woman trying to squeeze in a trip to the grocery with her baby. What a cutie!
She is so cute. The pictures with her and that doll are adorable! You sure have a sweet little girl!
very cute. Emmy's sucker ended up in Morgy's ponytail. yuck. reason #425 kids shouldn't eat candy. :)

Precious little girl! And your pix are great! (I'm in dire need of a new camera and just love your shots)! I'm an Indiana gal; therefore I get the Colts, UK (I only watch the games w/ my hubs hoping to see Ashley Judd...sad, I know), and snow (boo, hoo)! Great blog!
Oh my gosh those are the cutest pictures ever!!!! She is a doll!
Oh, she is adorable!
Great pics! I love her little purple chair and have been looking for something like that for my little one. I saw Pottery Barn kids has some but wasn't sure if they were nice enough to be worth the money. I would love to know where you got her's from, and if your happy with it?

Just found your blog! Love it! My daughter is around the same age as your, and from the looks of it enjoys many of the same hobbies. Loves Abby and her little teapot. She dances to the song it plays non-stop! I'll have to find that Abby in Wonderland DVD. I know she'd love it.
Oh, and my blog is sweetsouthernprep dot blogspot com. Just started it! :)
