I believe I stumbled upon Kelle's blog a couple of weeks ago through Sincerely, B, who directed her readers to an absolutely beautiful post Kelle wrote about the birth of her second daughter. I linked over and read the post, and as I read this beautiful, open account of one woman's journey through a life-changing event, I was mesmerized. At several times while reading the post, tears poured from me freely - as a woman, as a mother, my heart went out to Kelle. After finishing the post, I felt like I had a deeper appreciation for what is important in life. Thank you for that, Kelle.
Do yourself a huge favor and read this post - you will need to set aside about 20 minutes and be sure to have a box of Kleenex in hand. No matter your station in life, I am certain that you will find this post as touching and heartfelt as I did (and the 2500+ people who commented on Kelle's post).
Completely switching gears...
Just because I can't seem to create a post these days that does not include some Derby fashion, I wanted to include some "statement making" necklaces from Elva Fields.

These necklaces are gorgeous and would be a beautiful addition to any dressy outfit, Derby attire or not! These beautiful pieces have been featured by Lucky and Martha Stewart Weddings, just to name a few. And the best part? Owner/Designer Emily Wheat Maynard is a resident of Louisville! Every woman planning a trip to the Derby should be so lucky to wear a true Kentucky treasure such as an Elva Fields necklace!

I haven't read Kelle's blog yet, but I will tonight, when I have some alone time, after everyone goes to sleep. :)
P.S. I just went to Elva Fields' website, and all of the necklaces you featured are SOLD OUT! Wow, guess she must be popular, especially this year, close to the Derby, in Louisville. Hope she updates the site soon. :)
I still have to read the story....but I ventured over to the Elva Fields site....most everything is sold out! Beautiful stuff!
That line of necklaces always sends me over the moon...I am going to check out the post you mentioned..a bit worried though, cause I am quite emotional...
Thanks for the Kleenex warning. I thought I was doing good but in my hormonal state, I had to stop several times to gain my compusure. To be able to share that story, with those intense emotions, is just amazing. It made me want to go home and wrap my arms around my precious angel and not let go!!

The necklaces are gorgeous! If only I had excuse to wear one. :)
Oh I'm so glad you were as moved as I was Sara!!!!!!! Isn't her blog unbelievably inspiring? Her photographs, the way she narrates her life, the way she unabashedly admits to what is really on her heart. Those are two lucky little girls to have her as a mommy. :)
And oh my, why did you have to post such a drool-worthy collection of necklaces?!!! Now I'm trying to figure out what upcoming occasion will give me an excuse to buy one for myself! ;)
LOVE those necklaces! I want several bummer they are sold out.
Oh boy. You had me at the words "statement necklaces". Each one is prettier than the last. Now I'm off to read that post - though I will admit just your account of reading it had me teary eyed. I think I'm in trouble...
